Yes, some banks convert the basic saving account with such special facility; but if you do not want, you can deny such auto-debit transfer. More over the FDs are linked to the account with auto debit facility.

Can someone just win some 100 crore rupees lottery and deposit that lottery winning cheque in Savings bank? Is there no such limit on the money that can be held on Savings account?
