Marriage can be annulled if it is performed by force but then you will have the burden to show real danger or use of force in marriage. Further the force used is not just parental pressure but actual danger to life of a person therefore court may start criminal action. Alternatively, you can take divorce. Court allows divorce in large number of cases and can be taken by you.

Dear Sister,

My above reply just talks about the position of Indian law in matters relating to forced marriages. But, personally I feel that you should not take any legal actions against your parents. After all they love and care for you. They have raised you with great affection since your childhood. Since they have given birth to you, it is quite natural that they will be possessive while dealing in every matters concerning your interests.

When you will have  a daughter, even you will try to impose your dictates upon your daughter. Afterall, these are matters concerning emotional attachment. You can not tell your parents that "No ! You do not have any legal right to mingle in my internal affairs ! Please mind your own business !"

Sometimes, it happens that we take decisions as per our own childish whims without consulting our parents, who have seen more life than us, and we finally suffer. I have seen that love marriages are mostly not successful. It should not happen that you repent in future for the decision taken in past in throes of passion.

Things like, dragging parents to the court of law are gift of West. However, if your parents have chosen a boy who is not of good character and financially unstable, you are free to take the legal recourse. If this is not the case, I would advise you not to go against the will of parents.
