hey  hi everyone .... A very Goodevening to all of you .... smiley

I have some doubts hope you'll help in clarifying my doubts as you all always do ....

 My question is :-

I have bought Munish bhandari .. (called as the best book for law) but to be honest .....it's more than 2 months now ...but m still unable to catch with the book .... there are some doubts are still there

the book's best part is that it has cs final questions as well ...which will be helpful to me during my june13 ...

So .... I am  confused about some points which are

1.  I am unable to make notes out of it .... because the idea is so scattered in my mind .  second thing .... I don't think I would be reconcile the whole idea in a day.

2. the biggest advantage of the book is main confusing point for me ..... because I  have no clue whether any other book can also be helpful in giving the pattern  of cs exams ...

3.  is this happening because law h ....thoda typical h ... after 1-2  reading it will all be fyn ... or should I really go for notes ...

4. How many topics are really same in CA and CS final.....

waiting for your advice and suggestion friends .... angel

Regards

Renu

i think you should go through the Prospectus Of ICSI in which there are list of RECOMMENDED BOOKS FOR CS finals............

You might get help there............

i thnk so

Dear Renu,

Munish Bhandari book is really good for exam preparation along with ICAI study material.

Munish Bhandari Lawbook is very exhaustive but if one buys now and starts reading it, it is humanly impossible to complete it by exam time unless one reads law alone as there are more than 950 pages to read!! Munish Bhandari Handbook(roughly 300 pages) on the other hand is concise and apt for exam purposes and doable. One can get good marks in the exams too.A person I know scored 73% using just the Handbook. He had read SEBI Guidelines alone separately as it was not available in the Handbook. My advice: Just follow the Handbook. There is no need to get confused.
So use that without any hesitation

Renu,

For Law subject, u shld surely try Amit Karia's Corporate & Allied Laws by Bharat Law House.
U cant afford to miss this one,
Directors chapter from Bhandari becomes very confusing & complicated,
But in Karia's book, it is divided into three disticnt chapters
New Companies Bill Overview is also included in the book.
Trust me, you approach to studying law will change with the book.
Tips to write proper answers are given.
Case Laws are covered in the most understandable language...

Thanks Manjul , rajesh and JAy for your suggestions ....

I will surely look forward to those and would try to implement them yes

Your Point no.3 very inline with law subject.. after 1-2 try it will be very fyn....& M.B. book helpful in both courses...

3. is this happening because law h ....thoda typical h ... after 1-2 reading it will all be fyn ..

use module+practice manual the best comboyes

Agree with Tushar,

No need to rush to other books, focus on module after completing the same then refer others if time allows.

Refering to other books will confuse you to no end.

First of all be confident... remove all doubts from your mind...

Take module and one by one cover all the topics with the help of module and such book...

let me tell you no matter whose book you are referring, the main thing is your concept must be clear...

I never suggest to go for different books... Take one and read it confidently....

Prepare your own notes / short notes in your language which will be very helpful at the time of revision.

All the Best...

hi RENU........

you need not to open any other book.

Just prepare all the questions of practice manual and Revise it 5 times before exam that's it.

and do Last 3 RTP's including current RTP.

do suggested answers from nov2008 to nov 2011.(to cover some exceptional questions asked by icai which are not included in practice manual ).

in may 2011 exam 88 marks, nov 2011 exam 90 marks and may 2012 exam 92 marks were just copy paste from practice manual. if u don't believe in my words just open a paper and compare the questions with questions of practice manual.

I have recently cleared my first group in may 2012 attempt scoring 62 in Law by relying on practice manul only.

i have seen past papers of Final old course, there was significant amount of question coming from director you can say 35-45 marks . ICAI is playing clever now a days. as they are asking more questions on allied part... so to score high you need to prepare for both the parts (company+allied) taking together.

you just can not afford to leave a single chapter and the safest  & shortest way to cover all the chapters is Practice manual.

One thing you must keep in mind while taking any decision is that you have to prepare for eight papers and there are papers like costing , DT , ISCA. which are renowned to be the most difficult papers in CA final and you should try to invest  your maximum time on these papers.

I would recommend you to keep it simple keep it straight do not use any hand book ,making own notes would consume a lot of time  , learn precise answers suggested by ICAI & highlight the essence part within that answer for revision purpose.

Actually my main problem is with struggling with concept at time ...

i got confused over sec 300 while reading from Munish bhandari

and then sec 629 A penalty was misunderstood by me ... So I was bit scared.....

but now I think I should stick to same book ...

SUVAJIT.

Such a nice advice ... I won't dare to ignore your advice ..once again thanks a lot smiley

Agreed with Jay Amit karia book is sufficient for scoring good marks in Law. I am also reading the second edition and finding it useful.

Renu just buy Munish bandari hand book..its very easy and precise..no need to take notes..just refer tat book..u should b able to revise everything before ecams tat is the main point..so go for this book..for case laws explanation go for munish bandari's main book..now dont switch book..

hello renu,
I am preparing from munish bhandari handbook August 2011 edition... Can u please help me by answering 2 of my queries:-

1) whether amendments in SEBI Act and Co.s Act since past 2 attempts can be left by me for Nov. '12 exams??.......because half-of them (I think) is not relevant for our exams..

2) I am finding it difficult to study as this is my third attempt and I'm fed up of being in C.A. and studying..

I am asking you the 2nd question 2 you bcoz I used to read  ur "very good" posts in caclubindia earlier..
