GSTR 1 can not file till the date.Late fee or fine will be charged?

YOU CANNOT FILE GSTR1 NOW.. LAST DATE WAS 10TH OCT.
AS OF NOW ONLY GSTR2 IS BEING ACCEPTED ON THE SITE
it is possible to file. send the mail to gst help desk through registered mail ID & mention the GSTN Number.
for one of our customers also same problem happened. we sent the mail to gst help desk. then we filed the return yesterday.
I talk over GST help line he told me currently GSTR 1 filing for July and August closed re open after further notification.
It is not correct because July due date is 10.10.2017 but August due date is not published in the portal
