With such a bad result of CA PE II in its last attempt, should one convert beforehand to CA FINAL NEW COURSE (from OLD COURSE) ??

One of my friends is appearing for the same....

PE II has a bad result as compared to PCE & IPCC...

Is it a sign for the old course people that the result wont be much promising in their NOV's last attempt ???

Plz advice..thanx !!!!

Well i think definitely the new course passing %age will be higher than the old one as institute wants to encourage students to move to new one.  This trend has been observed in the past for PE-2 and PCC and even in may10 exams passing %age of old (both grps) was mere 3.6% as compared to 6.4% of new course and same is expected in nov exams. Hence your frind seems to be correct as far as passing chances in terms of %age is concerned.

However now almost 90 days are left.  Switching to new course will mean that some additional things will have to be studied in 6 subjects except DT/IDT.  Moreover the pattern of new course is slightly different from old one.

Your friend can consider switching to new course, but before that do give a look to difference in syllabus and paper structure.  If he thinks that he will be able to cover that in addition to old syllabus (bcoz only better passing %age won't ensure passing if you dont do well in exams) then YES new course can be a good option for ur friend.

even i have same query.i have cleared group 1.so should i switch over.please help.if you are old course student please post here what u r doing. ur views would be really helpful for us
