Itr 2 foreign asset details not editable in excel utility

Hello experts, I have filled ITR2. However I could not fill the foreign bank details as those fields are not editable. I am resident Indian.  I am using latest utility (Download on 10th of august, 2019). The error I get when trying to fill foreign bank details under TR_FA sheet is that those cells are protected. They appear in grey color. Do you know what needs to be done here? I am assuming still resident Indians must fill foreign bank details.

You plz check General Particulars schedule at the bottom. There you have to mark yes for any beneficial interest abroad

Thank you very much for the help. Found it based on your answer, but a small correction so that it could help somebody else looking for answer - In ITR2 excel utility, this field mentioned here is in sheet "PARTB- TI - TTI". I somehow overlooked it.

Thanks a lot.

Hello in new ITR2 Excel utility in Schedule TR_FA to declare foreign shares is not in active cells. how to activate those cells and enter foreign shares. please help.

go to Part B TI- TTI sheet, change section 19: to Yes "Do u ever had financial interest in located outside india". Then u will be able to enter data in TR_FA section A3 rows

@ Narayana

Wait for the shock after filling all stuff in ITR-2 Ver 1.0 [AY25-26] and finally reaching the step of  json creation/uploading.

Good luck in advance.

Many other bugs in the utility, Finally was able to crack all of them abd submit

1) Even if you disable section EI, XL gives error and syas must be filled, just enable it, write none in descripttion , give 0 Rs value and save.
2) in Schdule FA A3: u must fill all rows, fill 0 value in case no data for that many rows, row delete not possible
3) Immovable asset: house name must be non empty, else json uplaod throws error "expecting size 1 got 0 "
extra tips:
LTCG from foreign stocks : TR_FA sheet: Subsection B9: "From sale of assets where B1 to B2 above are not applicable"

Thanks a lot. Would try to link your reply to another thread on the ITR-2 Utility issue

@ Rahul

Found that you have already given the link of this thread to the thread started by me about ITR-2, Thanks.

@ Rahul

Please let us know.

1  Did you actually submit the JSON on IT portal successfully?

2  If yes then did you keep all the Schedules enabled while filling the Utility? (Just want to make sure if that makes any difference.)

3  Did you use pre-filled data or entered manually?

4  Can you redo it and tell us what does the SUMMARY sheet say? Its the sheet that is temporarily created as the last sheet in the file where the Save JSON button is present. Does it correctly show all the Schedules that you selected (especially CG, OS, TI-TTI) with their corresponding amounts ?(For many the amount is shown as NA. Few schedules are missing & others end up in the Empty schedules group.)

5  My JSON is being generated w/o any errors but the upload gives me 'validation fail' Null error. Tried on Excel 2016, 2021 & 2024 - both prefilled and manual entry.

Thanks.
