Frinds as requested the ICAI has finally notified that new ISCA module is applicable for all upcoming CA final new syllabus exams

i m enclosing my query with the ICAI which shows that this is correct furhter iam enclosing the announcement of ICAI which has now been deleted from the icai's website

Grievance	Respected Officials of ICAI Our institute has issued a new study material on INFORMATION SYSTEM AND CONTROL AUDIT ( ISCA PAPER 6 OF CA FINAL NEW SYLLABUS )during the month of march 2010 this is infact a chnged module as we compare it with the one which we had received while we had registered for ca final new syllabus there is increase in content like practical problems on FLOW CHART and Decision tree and DFD's also the content of various topics has been changed as u know that this is a pure theoritical subject the practical knowledge of which is really difficult to gain during our articleship i want to request you to make it clear as whether the exams of november 2010 and further shall be prepared with the new published book having broad contents or the one which we had reecived while we had registered for new syllabus final course if it is the new published module which is about to be covered for examination i request you to please notify all the students regarding the same on the website of icai. As in the present scenerio of 6% result even a single mark can turn the life of all of us this query is of high importance to all of us.

Dear Student Revision of the study material is a continuous process of the Board of Studies. Not only ISCA, other study materials of Final are also revised and printed in March, 2010. Students should always read the latest module while appearing in the exam. Moreover, for the facility of the students, the soft copy of the module is also uploaded on the Institute website under BoS Knowledge Portal. Revised study material on Final (New) Course, Group –II, Paper 6: Information Systems Control and Audit - (29-07-2010)

The study material of Final (New) Course, Group –II, Paper 6: Information Systems Control and Audit (ISCA) was revised and printed in March, 2010. Students are advised to go through this revised study material of ISCA which isapplicable for Nov 2010 examination. The printed copy of the study material is available at the sales counter of the Decentralised Offices. For the facility of the students, the soft copy of this revised material is also available on the Institute’s website under BoS Knowledge Portal which can be downloaded free of cost. Print and view facility is also available.

well people like me who have done a material part of the syllabus do not panic AS THERE IS NO BIG CHANGE IN 7 CHAPTERS

THERE IS MAJOR CHANGE IN the two most important and lenghiest chapters i.e

SDLC AND CONTROL OBJECTIVES

in SDLC there is introduction of practicl concepts on flow chart dfd decision table etc also the content of old module is cut short as the number of pages has been reduced to 71 from 92

In Control Objectives there is major change

the content of the chapter has been doubled i.e from 66 pages in existing module the number of pages has been increased to 130

i m giving a comparative view of number of pages and content of both modules. I have wasted a lot of time compairing it so i do not want any other november 10 exam seeker to waste his time more on this.

It is my advise to all those who have not done anything in ISCA to do it from new book

and to all those who have already done it please do the newly introduced concepts from new module

but i dont understand what the faculty meant when he said that new materials should be read for every exam. i mean we know the changes that take place in other subjects which are subject to revision due to changes in laws/standards, but in ISCA it is not possible to know what has changed and what hasnt[because it is prepared by the institue.]..

it is not expectable from ICAI to chnge the content of any theory subject like ISCA

unlike law and audit it is different from the core content ( which is copied from INFORMATION SYSTEM AUDIT AND CONTROL ASSOCIATION )

So it is the duty of ICAI to let the student knw if they do any such changes

i think people are not taking it seriously

there are almost 17500 students going to write ca final new syllabus exams

i expected more replies to this issue so that i wud had given me piece of mind that my effort got rewarded

First of all let me Thank u for the wonderful job u did by analysing the whole story of ISCA which is truly helpful to the final Yr, students Community. I sincerely Thank u on behalf of all of them.

since u had a conversation with the ICAI officials regarding the Applicability and the Obviously the "Cons" of such amendment for the Nov. 2010 exam, You must have noticed there are instances where institute had withdrawl their Notifications,,,So i would love to support u for any Request that we can make to the Institute for taking back such sort of sh*t (at least for nov 2010 students)......
