no its not required as per CBDT now it has to be sent to Banglore.

if you have filed the return with DSC (Digital Signature Certificate), there is no need to do anything. the receipt generated online is sufficient, but if you have filed the return online without DSC tan you have to send it to Bangalore

now you have to sent at bangalore only...with signature of d assessee on print out of acknowledgement.. its better to sent UNDER POSTAL CERTIFICATE bcoz with help of this u will get ack. of post from d postal dept.
