I qualifed CA at the age of 36, that too after marriage and having kids. But CA exams are very tough and results are heavily moderated. It is very difficult to clear the exams along with a full time job and without attending coaching classes. You have to take a break from all your activities (even though you don't study for more than 6 hours in a day). After earning the degree, you will command better social / professional status and respect. CA degree is a lifetime insurance.
CA and CWA degree have very limited career options.
International degrees and certifications are very easy but don't have any recognition in India, e.g. ACCA, ICAEW, CPA (USA, Australia etc.), CPA, CIMA, CMA, CIA, CISA, CFE. If you are planning to migrate out of India, you can go for these courses.
People with good Industrial exposure can also switch to ERP implementation (i.e. SAP / Oracle / MS Dynamics etc.) after undergoing the relavent courses and certification exams.
