Alternatively

let in total i got  'X' eclairs

so.  total eclairs eaten = total bought in money + total free eclairs  got  from rapper s

i.e.,  X = 15 + x/3

or. 2x / 3 = 15

or.  X = 22.50

since 22.50 is not possible (i.e shop keeper will not give me half eclairs) answer should be lower integer. i.e. 22 Eclairs

NOTE

[this equation method  can be used  for complex problems say if number of eclairs is  15600 and   one is free for every 135 rapper and so on ]
