friends the question is placed in previous exams,

we can't place it as an out of portion and there is a less chance of icai giving a reward for that question

In which previous exam are you talking about?

I think old syllabus problems in Electricity cahpter are not given in May and Nov 2013 exams.

Electricity Companies Syllabus is not changed during period 2009-11.

Hi Friends,

It was indeed an error in the paper. They asked a question completely out of the portion. The concept was not included in the study material also. 

I think we should all get together and let ICAI know of this error in the paper. After all it was for 8 marks and it can have a great impact on our results.

I have sent an email to them. I suggest we all should do the same. We should all send an emal so that ICAI realizes their mistake. I sent the mail on the following two email IDs:

intermediate_examhelpline @ icai.in

icai should give full marks for that question which out of syllabus.
