I also listen about policybazaar.com which offers all types of insurance policies with online comparison like car insurance, compare travel insurance, life/health/term insurance and others investment plans. Also add this on your list.

Sorry, but may I know why you didn't  provide direct website link of LIC India like others.

The list is useful as a historical reference, but insurance products and company names change over time, so I would be careful about using a 2011 list to make a buying decision today.

For health insurance especially, I think the more important question is not simply which company is on the list. Look at the actual financial protection: room eligibility, exclusions, waiting periods, co-pay, sub-limits and what you could still have to pay when a hospital bill arrives. Two policies from well-known insurers can give quite different claim experiences.

For someone choosing health insurance for a family, it may help to first decide what level of protection you actually want and then evaluate policies against that, rather than starting with the company name. I came across this resource that approaches health insurance from that angle: Bima Clarity – Me & My Family. It focuses more on understanding claim behaviour and potential out-of-pocket expenses than just comparing a long list of features.

Also, for the current list of insurers and their regulatory status, I would verify directly against the latest official sources before relying on the older names in this thread.
