We are dealers of Aluminum coating powders and we our godown is on rent. We have renovated the godown and painting works were done for which we received Tax invoice on our GST number. Shall we claim the tax paid on painting materials used for godown renovation.

in my opinion, you can't claim.
YOU CANNOT CLAIM ITC FOR YOUR SAID EXPENSES, ITC IS BLOCKED FOR RENOVATION, REPAIRS, ALTERATION OF IMMOVABLE PROPERTY OTHER THAN P&M.
ITC on whitewash, repair expense, painting expenses not available as these are not eligible. Agreed with Prateek Surve
Can we claim ITC on material purchased for whitewash if property is rented one?

It will be blocked under section 17(5)(d) of CGST Act, 2017 in case you are capitalising in books of accounts.
If the expense would be charged off to profit and loss account, then the credit would be eligible.
