Hi, I am eligigle for Industrial Training from June 2010. If anyone already undergoing or gone through Industrial Training, please advise, if such Industrial Training is useful, as in does one really get to learn in the corportate environment. Or is it just better to keep working under the practicing CA.

hi abhay just weigh both the options and consider taking a decision only after weighing the options. if your current boss gives u adequate leave and the office timings are normal and ur current  boss allows u to attend classes because as far as i know if u undertake industrial training then u have to work for atleast 10-12 hours a day which may not be the situation with your current boss.

Also min period of industrial training is 9 months so if i presume u join them on 1 st may,u need to give ur boss 1 months notice for that, then 9 months comes down to january and if ur ca final exams are in may 2011 then there is trouble. However if it is at a later date then may be its not an bad option.

Yes i agree the exposure u get in industrial training is far more than in a small ca firm but u have to consider the cons discussed earlier.

Slso consier the travelling time since most of the industrial centers are located in the city area.

Think properly and then take a decision because if u take a hasty decision it could mean trouble

I know other learned members may beg to differ on this issue but its my opinion and mind you clearing ur ca course is the ultimate

Hi Abhay I am undergoing industrial training with PEPSICO currently. Whether to join IT or not depends upon what you want to do after passing out as a CA. If you want to join industy then you should preferably go for Industrial training as it will give you good exposure to Corporate Culture which is always lacking in CA firms. If u want to do practice after becoming CA then articleship under a practicing CA is a better option.

As regards adjusting classes of yours my experience is very good as i am allowed to attend my classes without any restrictions. Discuss those things in your interview only rather than asking for permissions later.

All the best.
