Dear Govindraja,

An articled clerk may at his discretion serve as an Industrial Trainee for a period which may range between nine months and twelve months during the last year of his Practical Training in any of the financial, commercial, industrial undertakings with minimum fixed assets of Rs 1 crore or minimum total turnover of Rs. 10 crores or a minimum paid up share capital of Rs. 50 lakhs or in any other institution or organisation approved by the Council for this purpose.

Provided the article clerk has intimated his Principal about his intention to take such industrial training 3 months before the date on which such training is going to commence. Put it on record....use only written communication. Just ensure you give him 3 month notice. In case still your employer not giving transfer, then approach Articles section of ICAI and get clarification on the same in such case.

Also, there should be an agreement of industrial training in Form No.104. The industrial training shall be received under the member of the Institute. An associate who has been a member for a continuous period of at least 3 years shall be entitled to train one industrial trainee at a time and a fellow shall be entitled to train two industrial trainees at a time.

The below link provides you the list of such approved institutions wherein you can take such training  -
