Income tax reund not received due to bank account closure

Hi,

My brother had filed incometax return, while filing the return he forgot to update his new bank account & tax refund was processed & sent in the dormant/closed bbank account.

What is the process to get it back. How to intimate the Income Tax authorities. Do he have to get the previously dormant account activated or a new account in his name with do the purpose.
