INCOME TAX ON STCG/LTCG

Hello All,

I have income from Divident (Rs 20,000), FD (Rs 15000) and Saving Account Interest (10000) only. No Salary Income.

So, I would like to know how I have to pay income tax on STCG and LTCG (Excess of 100000). Thank you all in advance.

Regards,

Wedant

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies income tax obligations for individuals with dividend, Fixed Deposit, and Savings Account interest income. It addresses questions about paying income tax on Short-Term Capital Gains (STCG) and Long-Term Capital Gains (LTCG), particularly when total income exceeds certain thresholds. The advice provided helps users understand their tax liabilities based on their specific income sources and capital gains.

If you do not have any STCG or LTCG, why you wish to pay income tax?

Your Total Income is still below ₹ 3 lakhs. No tax is payable

I have STCG (Rs. 100000.00) & LTCG (Rs. 200000)

Your aggregate imcome comes to 3.45L. So LTCG tax over 45K will be liable.
