Income tax, hra and conveyance

Hi All,

i am confused about my IT efiling, please kindly clarify my below doubts, Note: I am a salaried person and have no other income.

1,in form ITR1, where to specify HRA deductions? is there any section at where i have to put my total HRA so it will be deducted? i hope its not 80C..?!!

2. also where to specify conveyance allowance deductions? PER MONTH 850 I CAN DEDUCT WITHOUT ANY BILL?

3. whether a companies TAN changes each year? is it same for all employees?

4. i am jobless for 1 month, so any House rent deduction for that month?

Before you proceed, please take out form 16 issued by the employer.

In the form 16, look for Income chargeable under the head salaries and enter this figure in the ITR. This figure is arrived after allowable excemptions like HRA, Transport Allowance ( @ 800/- per month for commuting between office and residence), PT etc.

Any interest on SB account can be mentioned in the Income from Other Sources

Deductions u/s 80C is shown after Gross Total Income

TAN of the employer will also be mentioned on the form 16.

Thanks poornima, but i have not got my form16 from my previous employer and in my current company i didnt submit any house rent reciept, so i think in my current company they took tax for my HRA also.
