Income tax & CA

No, i have not come across such situation, such that a CA is Income Tax Official. I have attended various scrutinty cases but from my personal experiances i can say that  generally the higher post like Joint or Additional Commisinore allocated to IAS Officers. In my view if CA are given an opportunity would serve better because they are the experts in the subject.

In income tax department,recruitment is done by UPSC through Civil services exams every year. The candidates selected through civil services are designated as Asst Commissioner in their first posting. The officers below the rank of ACIT are recruited by SSC every year on the post of inspector.
