Hello to everyone.
I am a salaried class person. My Income tax was deducted by my employer in advance i.e before 31-03-2010 but under a wrong PAN no. Now even in FORM !6 my PAN no is entered wrong PAN no. Now what are steps i have to carry out?

Ask the employer to issue new TDS certificate with correct PAN No. & also to revised the TDS return for Correcting the PAN No.
FOR U'R SAFETY TAKE THE NEW FORM 16 FROM EMPLOYER WITH CORRECT PAN NO. EVEN IF EMPLOYER IS NOT AGREED FOR REVISING TDS RETURN.
IF SCRUTINY COMES, PRODUCE THE COPY OF TDS CERTIFICATE CONTAINING THE CORRECT PAN NO.
IF EMPLOYER NOT AGREED FOR REVISIING THE RETURN, INCOME TAX TDS CIRCLE WOULD TAKE PROPER ACTION AFTER YOUR SCRUTINY, FOR QUOTING WRONG PAN NO.

Hi,
some times it happen that due to clerical error they will type a wrong PAN in form 16. Even u r not so sure whether he has filed the TDS with correct pan number.
1. ASK him, sir this is wrong PAN u have quoted in my form 16. Can u pls change it??
2. what is the pan number you mentioned while filing TDS return..
3. Can u please revise the TDS return if wrong pan number is there.
4. after revising the same take new form 16.

Ask a fresh form 16 from your employer and ask him to revise the tds returns with correct PAN.
