Capital gain is attracted as soon as you sale any jewellery items. Captial gain is calculated in normal way that is - Sale proceeds as reduced by indexed cost of acquisition and difference will be capital gain subject to LTCG taxes.
As to your question of how many grams free, it is in respect of holding context and nothing to do with capital gain transaction on sale of any gold gram
