Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies how to declare income earned as a contract employee, particularly in road construction, and from retail trading. It explains that contract employee income is typically taxed under Profits and Gains from Business or Profession (PGBP). The advice suggests using presumptive taxation schemes like Section 44ADA for contract work (declaring 50% of receipts) and Section 44AD for trading income (minimum 8% of gross receipts). The user is advised that they can combine the turnover and net profit from both business activities for their Income Tax Return (ITR) filing, provided they meet the eligibility criteria for these sections.

1.As Contract Employees are not treated as normal employees, there Income is taxed as Income from PGBP. Yoy can simply opt presumtive taxation scheme U/S 44ADA and disclose your Income as 50% of the amount received.
2.Other Income can disclose u/s 44Ad as minimum 8% of gross receipt
