Income declaration problem

Hello Everyone.

I am an Engineering student and i have taken an educational loan from a bank.

Now the bank manager is asking me to submit an income declaration certificate to apply for Interest subsidy.

He wants me to submit a statement from any "Sub divisional Officer".

But the problem is that my father is a worker in a jute mill in kolkata and its not a service.

Our yearly income is less than rs 50000 , so i cannot make an Income Tax file on my father's Name.

But then How can i declare the income of my father ?????

I really do not know anything about Income tax and all , and i have been mulling over this fact for some time.

so i would you people to help me and guide me through..

Hi Farhan,

U can file Income tax return of ur father even if its below taxable limit...approach a tax consultant or an auditor to get ur father's return for AY 11-12 filed within mach 31....If Sub divisional office is ready to acccept Income tax return as a proof to giv ua income certificate den go ahead wid dis procedure...

thanx a lot for replying back..i understand that part.but can you please tell me..whoe are these sub divisional officers...i mean where can i find them....they must be recognized by a post right..??

Asst commissioner generally does the work of a sub divisional officer....n generally all these income certificates are given under his seal oly....so find for AC office in ua place n ask them for income certificate by submitting them a income tax return, depending on which dey giv d income certificate..

thanks...for the replies...i was busy with my exams ...so could not get back to this...well i am thinking of finally making the it file for my father,..please guide me through the process... My father works in a jute mill and his annual income is around rs 45000 . The owner is not willing to give the form 16 declaration about the wage as it is a temporary service. Now can i make the it file ..even if the annual income of my father is below the minimum limit also...and secondly...should i call up an agent to make it or can i do it myself... Thanks.
