IGST refund, PFMS rejected, any clues how to handle

We have been regularly getting our IGST refund when exported against payment of taxes.

But, the last refund has been stuck, scroll generated. No errors, but rejected by PFMS.

There has not been any change in our bank details. Does anybody have a clue why it is has been rejected by PFMS, when customs & GST dept has already cleared the refund without any error code???

If it's rejected the refund, what is the next step for claim the amount. we take back the input tax credit? please guide.

Thats what I have asked Reason for rejection , the Error Code ...... only then can be guide to get refund back

Dear Sir,

Thanks for your response.

We verify rejected related Shipping billS in ICEGATE - "IGST Validation Details Enquiry" No error code mentioned and response code is SB000 (Successful). Then we checked in IGST scroll Sanctioned status "At PFMS" shown as "REJECTED". At the time of GSTR-1 we properly uploaded correct Inv. number, date, SB No & SB date.

For Example:

I am facing the same issue and i think it is probably being faced by people who have accounts in public banks .

bcoz of the mergers ,i suspect IFSC would be changed and hence the PFMS rejected status.

Do you think that could be the case?

Hi All,

I am also facing the same problem. I have written to Icegate and they replied by stating that scroll was rejected and necessary action will be taken by department.

Scroll is getting rejected at PFMS again and again without any error. It seems like government has shortage of funds. Our company's huge working capital is blocked due to this issue. We are unable to pay the salaries.

I am getting the following error msg:

'PFMS of iec of given SB no is showing rejected. You are requested to verify it at PFMS.'. Can anyone let me know how to contact PFMS? . My port is cochin, kerala.

Antoine found the reason behind PFMS rejected refund of IGST as if we don't change bank details or anything...

We are also in same boat, our IGST validated with SB000 code, scroll generated on 30.11.2019 and today it shows as PFMS rejected, is there anyway to know why it is rejected by PFMS, it did happen to us in past and after a lot of calls to ICEGATE we found that it was technical error and it took almost 3 weeks for us to get the scroll back again

is there a way we can speed it up

Has any one got their PFMS rejected thing sorted out ? i fail to understand when we are getting drawback in the bank account, why PFMS should reject the IGST refund, is it a deliberate step done by govt to delay the refunds ?

Just read the standard procedure for IGST Refund process and it is described as follows The entire scroll gets rejected by PFMS. This happens in cases where the account details available with PFMS at the time of receipt of scroll is different than that in the scroll for one or more IECs. In such cases, the jurisdictional System Manager, after having confirmed that the money was indeed not credited to any of the exporters’ accounts from that scroll, can write to ICEGATE helpdesk at once giving the scroll details. The reconciliation and scroll cancellation process may take 2-3 weeks, How very convinient for the govt to hold the money for so long !!
