It has increased by May'2011.

Now a days ICAI is more money minded then to provide the positive results.
The cost of application form is increased to such a big extent because ICAI wants to encourage online-application.
ICAI's motive for the sharp hike in the price of form is to encourage online filing!
So file the form online and save Rs. 500.
even if we go through online filing , i heard that we ve to include that 500rs in xam fee .ie. 1600+500. is this true

Rs 500 of exam form fees is completely waived off from paying if online mode is opted for.

no only we have to pay 1000 if we are opting for a single group and rs 1600 if we are opting for both the groups. this is the tru information
Rs. 500 is only charged from those students who are opting for OFFLINE Form Filling
and not Charged from those students who are going for ONLINE PAYMENT
ICAI ANNOUNCEMENT
it has been decided to waive off the cost of application form (i.e.
Rs. 500/- for PCC, IPCE & Final candidates) in respect of candidates who fill in their forms online at
https://icaiexam.icai.org from 9th
August, 2011 to 30th
August, 2011 and remit the
examination fee online by using Credit cards/ Debit cards , either VISA or Master Card.
The candidates can continue to fill in the application forms online from 31st
August, 2011 to 6th
September, 2011 by remitting late fees. Alternatively, students can utilise the physical examination
application forms which are priced at Rs. 500/- each for PCC, IPCC and Final Candidates which will be
available for sale from 9th
August, 2011 to 6th
September, 2011.
