I am a non-performer, i quit

Hi All,

I am a non-performer for the past so many years, if not the attempts as I don't want to mention my attempts here. Every attempt I was attempting the CA final exams with loads of zeal and enthusiasm inspite of having lot of problems at home and at work, with the belief that one day I will be a CA, but all went in vain after the results of CA Final exam, November 2017 were declared.

Like many other CA students I also keep thinking that the next attempt will be good than the previous one and I will be a "Chartered Accountant" in the next attempt. And now I don't have enough courage to keep on writing the exams without any success. Its better I say "QUIT" and concentrate on the job on hand. I think CA is not my cup of tea. I ama lefft with just the 2nd group of my CA final exams which I am appearing for the past 10 years or so, but could not meet with success even in any attempt in these 10 years.

Even if I continue also, there is no guarantee that the May 2018 attempt and the corresponding results will be anything different from the May and Nov 2017 exams and results. Moreover in May 2018, GST is being examined for 75 marks which is a new subject when compared to the existing Indirect tax laws which has Excise and Service tax.

ICAI has ruined my career and I have come to a situation where I am unable to decide what to do as the chances of clearing my group-II looks bleak.

Sorry for bothering you all with my story sofar. All the best for my friends who have shared many motivational stories to keep me going in previous years. Many thanks to them.

Regards

Jawahar

Same situation, left with Group 1, not cleared again. Hard to let it go

same here bro... my age is now 32..... i am also struggling and giving exam from past 10 years but could not clear any of the groups... still both groups remained....

i know hard work matters but our luck also matters most... i also think in the same way... 10 years means 20 attempts yar.... its so many attempts,,, we have seen syllabus change 2 times...

There is no satisfactory way bro... we have to start our life... but still a pain in our heart will remain always that we could not clear CA.

I dont know whats the solution... just i want to say you that, i am with you... and i can understand your pain...

Thanks Sachin for your concern.

Hi friends. Don't feel bad about the results. we are all sailing on the same boat. I have been giving finals for the past seven years with good gap. There was an attempt were i got 55 above in law and audit but did not clear my SFM and i decided to quit. The next 3-4 attempts i forgot all about my dreams and never even tried to open icai site.

But it comes back again. so don't quit. this attempt was very hopeful but lost. what to do? so if you quit it will be a nightmare for you and every time he hear the word CA it would disturb you. so try again.....

and remember there will be a day when you can give a comment here... finally CA. SO ALL THE BEST.

Hello jawahar I can totally understand what u might be going through right now the feeling of failure is not the one we aspire every time aftr our efforts to clear the exam. As u said u are giving grp 2 frm Las many attempts and unable to clear For this I would like to advice you frm my experience that I too cleared my ca this time in my 7th attempt. It was a long Journey filled with failures after failures and one thing I learned is that blaming institute for our short coming is not right. We fail because our preparation is not up to the mark of ca final level or there's a lack of planning in how we study. After so many attempt I learned that I needed to self introspect my own study find out where I am missing out what topic what subject I am lacking and work on it get your papers frm icai and analyze them. Thats what I did and I passed, I too blamed icai for my failures but blaming icai wnt help us. Maybe you need writing practice give exams regularly mock test papers etc this will help you it helped me a lot . Focus on papers that u lack in grp 2 devote more time to that. Make a plan and stick to it may be take time of your job and focus completely for 4 to 5 months for may 18 success will come if our hard work is honest I just hope it works out fr you and u clear ca because I know what it feels to fail again and again. Good luck brother belive in yourself one last time don't give up

Jawahar Bhai,

After writing  CA exam and not clearing is a definitely a pain, but If you quit CA exam.

You will be carrying devasting pain rest of your life and gulit in your heart that the next attempt could have been mine and this will hurt you even more.

So pain will be there irrespective you write CA exam or you Quit, better one is staying in the battlefield wounded rather than running away, atleast there is a chance and hope.

I would like to conclude with that "Hope is a good thing and things never fails....."

dear jawahar. most of us had failed no of times but some of us only become can after tough fight. all our words and opinions are heard by u no of times as we all are consoling one another every Jan and August. my suggestion is listen to your inner voice and leave this course for a short time and re enter with a bang . all the best for your peaceful life. thanks.

I am 37, with 2 kids and hell lot of commitment on this earth.  Every time i am Knocked down i become more stronger.  I dont understand or care wether i am strong or weak.  What i know is I am shameless and will be until i get the word PASS in that website.

Hi Jawahar,

If you are under water what do you need the most ??? is it Oxygen, and if you are there for some time without air under water

how hard will you try to come up to surface to breath. That should be the level of hard work and commitment expected

Forget Old memories first

Left only with one group means u cleared already 3 groups in CA exams that itself is a remarkable achievement

Next is focus on New subjects where u can find new things to learn, like GST

Try the open book Exam by opting for new scheme

Select one paper which u can score more than 60 of your liking.

Score it , beat it , rip the subjects apart , but never quit that four headed hydra G2.

All the Best

Dont worry Jawahar keep trying already you proved you are a successfull man in all previous level so concentrate on your weakness and make it strong then you will be a ca

Hi Jawahar,

Everyone can understand the pain of failure, because everyone would face failure at some point or another.

I am doing CA Final since last 8 years and didn’t clear any of the groups. Still I am doing and preparing for next attempt. As per my opinion, as we are doing a professional course, our job also require such a professional knowledge and attitude. Even if we quit CA profession we have to be professional in our job and to keep updated with all taxes, Accounting Standards and also some computer software. While keeping CA as my career, I was also working in a company to keep my career safe. Last year I have started my own consultancy and doing accounts and tax works as freelance. Hitherto I don’t feel any misery on my career. I hope I am in a right track.

Situation of each one is different, that depends on our personal problems including financial and family problems. I am from a middle class family and was facing financial problems very well. That’s why I prefer for a job during my study.

I suggest you to concentrate on your study and at the same time concentrate on your job. Because now you need less than a half time that you were spent earlier to cover the syllabus. You will definitely never feel any hopelessness in your career.

In your writing, it is mentioned that, the new syllabus with GST also will be a problem for you. That attitude is not good for a professional. CA students are also professionals. Approach to all things in such a way. Because this is our Career........

Best wishes..!

Only thing I can say Never Quit. Just give one full year to your studies start studying at least 10 hours a day from day one and also don't do any job . Just give one year ... I can guarantee u that u will be PASS
PLEASE NEVER GIVEUP. QUITING IS Not An OPTION.

hi, my situation also same some times I want to do suicide, but my parents not expecting that .... I didnt go marriages, functions from my cpt,

passing ca final doesnt give u success.. failling ca final doesnt mean u r fail...

there are two ways for successing in life...  u want to do job or practice??

if job========> do MBA Finance... I met some people who drop out from ca are becoming CEO,CFO of some companies who are in top position

If practice====> do LLB then u can go practice as tax consultant and u can argue with CIT(Appeals),ITAT,NCLT,NCLAT,CESTAT which are equal to CA

fot that u need a lot of subject, knowledge level GRIP on Suject

Try to study in extream level....dont study CA final books, go to ICAI Library and study post qualification Books.. dont think u fail... think as u passed ca and writing again exam...then u pass definitely... subject is different, marks is different, if we write 10th class exams there is no guarantee that we get same marks as we scored...

there is no end for satisfaction...  all the best
