HRA Claim while working abroad

2874 views 3 replies

Hello Experts,

I am working abroad on long term assignment from my company for 6 months.

I am getting Salary in USD in abroad and only basic indian salary plus few allowance in India.

I would like to know about the HRA claims during my tenure onsite.

As i have a rented flat in Delhi but now my company stopped paying the HRA component.

Can i claim the HRA while filing the return next year or not.

Kindly advise.

Many thanks in advance.

Regards,

Veenit

The HRA exemption is available subject to certain conditions.

The place of your employment  is also  having a consideration for the eligibility of the exemption.

You can claim HRA for the period of your stay in India.

i dont think employee living outside india is denied of HRA  he can very well claim in 10 13A, WHAT IS TO BE TAKEN AS SALARY IS A QUESTION MARK WHICH CAN BE ASKED AS ADVANCE RULING BY YOU OR AS A QUERY TO IT DEPT
