How to show salary from partnership as income from business?

207 views 3 replies

I have received a notice for defective return. I am a partner in a partnership firm and my CA showed the renumeration as "income from business". I have another proprietership business too for which income was taken under section 44ad.

The notice says the "gross receipts" and balance section have not been filled in for income from business.

I want to know how to show that? I mean, if show renumeration from partnership as salary, then it is fine. But it has to be shown as business income. So how do we enter the details like "gross receipts", and profit and loss details? Do I mention the renumeration as "gross receipts" and expenses as "zero"?

Please help.

How to file your Partnership Firm's ITR and Which section...?

Sir, this is about my personal ITR. I have income from partnership and a proprietership. The proprietership income is under section 44ad. I am talking about the renumeration I received from the partnership. That has been shown as "income from business". But the sections about "gross receipt", "profit", "loss" etc have been left vacant. So I have received defective return notice.

So how is partner renumeration ususally shown? It has to ben shown as income from business rather than salary but then how to fill the other profit and loss sections?

You are right. it's income from business. did you filed ITR 3?
