How to pass 2nd final group

Hi Dev,

A very common question that many CA finalists eager to clear the pending 2nd group have in their mind...

Though I was not very lucky in clearing the 2nd group very easily, I managed to clear it in May 2011.

Following could be of help:

1) Costing : The kind of marks that you get in this paper are very unexpected at times and for sucess yo need to work hard on topics like marginal costing; standard costing; be conceptually clear as most of the practical question in the exams are non-repetitive. DONT neglect take theory easily insteadwork more on theory questions as they are most of the times repeated and weigh almost 20-30 marks in exams. In OR do CPM-PERT, LPP, Simulation and assigment/transportation thoroughly.

2) ISCA: though looks tough(just a mental block by seeing how others score)... Just forget it and read...read...read... and just read... memorise the key points... and technical words...a month before exams search for ISCA imp questions and focuss more on imp questions (mostly imp questions cover 60% of the syllabus) and in exams almost 35-45% of paper is from imp questions.... imp questions are publised by some of the students attending classes on the club itself search for it and make good use of this...

3) DT :I am not an expert to comment on this subject but just read...read...read... the provisions again and again... If suits try readng from Vinod Gupta...

4) IDT : I was very bad in this (though this subject is easy for 90% of the students)... To clear this I had to do Tayal classes (in mumbai goregaon east )and could finally score decent 53 marks... If you reside in mumbai join Tayal...
