im pursuing the old scheme of education that is the pe2 exam ,and for the recent may 2008 attempt which was my 3rd attempt , i cleared my 1st group , but i really did expect to clear my 2nd group also , because i thought that no matter even if marks may be a little lesser for the other 2 subjects , after writing the tax exam i felt i had reallly done it well and would score likewise , but it really shocked me when tax turned out to be the only paper i failed .( i really worked hard for tax too , have presently given for rechecking) ). i have however decided to give it another try . i am getting a little frustrated sitting at home since one year is over after college finished . can u please give me the advice i need on how to approach the 2nd group especially income tax , and about my present situation ? i really feel i must finally clear the next attempt for good .

Hi
I could understand your problem. What book are you following for Income Tax. Have you attended any class for Income Tax? It makes a lot of difference to use the right book and approach the paper rightly. Refer suggested answers for the manner in which you should write answers. Once you revert I will give you further thoughts.

Dear Sidharth stress more on theory rather than practicals. U can refer to Ajay Jain's book as it'll help u to gain more in less time. It is very student friendly book.

hi siddarth

i could understand your problem .Basically I.tax is such a sub.in which any one can score more than 70 marks .I think you should do more practice from Girish Ahuja Book for resp.years in which you will find question from last attemt of P2,CS .Try to remember the section by drawing flow chart .Best of Luck

thanks for the advice Mr Venkatesan , currenly i had been following the textbook of my income tax teacher to whose classes i have to gone twice now ( i think he is really good though ) and also for some additional reference i had used the textbook of mr. TN Manoharan , which seemed to be quite popular here with students . i had also attempted/practised the 20 mark questions of the last 10 years ,  had never done a complete paper at one go , though i had attempted exam questions separately .
