I have received an Arrear Demand U/S 245 to pay Rs. 8000 for A.Y. 2008-09. As per My records, i have refund of Rs. 12000 for such A.Y. When i visited to A.O. of respective ward in Kolkata, he said me to bring challans and other details on the basis of which i had demanded refund then. ( Those details were attached in Return which was filled manually ). Now alongwith those documents Clerk also told me to attach an application U/S 154. Now I DONT KNOW HOW TO MAKE SUCH APPLICATION AND WHAT NAXT MOVE I SHOULD TAKE. Plz reply me, its urgent. Thanks a lot.....

no prescibed form for that appication. Just write an application on a plain paper mentioning your details and enclosing the documents and just write on the subject line as Application u/s 154 for rectification for the Assessment year _____.

As I have received the intimation u/s 143(1)/notice u/s 245 on ............................. and found incorrect. I do submit herewith the following for your consideration and rectification of the same.

1. Tax calculation sheet

2. Challans ( advance tax/ self assessment tax xerox)

3. TDS certificates and form 26AS copy for respective years(xerox)

4 form 30 duly signed .

5.intimation u/s 143(1) ( if communicated to yourself)

I belive that i am eligible for Excess Tax deposited / TDS deducted to the extent of Rs ...........and have filed the return with claim of refund on ............(date) in ITR ....., ( xerox copy of acknowledgement attached) in your office.

I request you to look into the matter and make rectifications accordingly at the earliest and communicate the same at the earliest.
