I have seen students going for self study. And lots of material, video lectures are available on internet.

So nothing foolish about it. Just be regular. If possible discuss topics with your friends, on CCI, https://studentslms.icai.org/

If you are too weak in any topic- then it would be better to join face to face classes to save time.

I am also doing selfstudy for topics other than SFM, DT in CA Finals till now but self analysing things at times is too much time consuming
