GSTR 9 Query

If a Company has closing balance of IGST of 1 lakh in FY 2017-18 (as per GSTR 9 of FY 2017-18), then while filing GSTR 9 of FY 2018-19, where it should be shown?

Whether Pt. 6 ITC availed during the financial year includes opening balance  of FY 2017-18? or it is not required to be shown?

Thanks

Dear Sunny
if you declare in Table 6M , the 6O will not match with 6A, & Moreover kindly refer the Heading of Table 6 , it's " ITC availed during the FY"

And if suppose you report opening in Table 6M , The Figure in table 7J will be not match with your Books of account for Fy 2018-19 ,

Note : Yes the ITC of Fy 2017-18 availed in Fy 2018-19 is to be reported in 6M

Thank you sir.

Table 6 heading is "ITC availed during the Financial Year" so whatever ITC is utilized towards payment of liability (whether ITC received during the year or it pertains to opening balance - both combined) can be termed as availed during the year - this is what I assumed.

Yes 6A and 6O will not match and thereby 7J will also not match.

But then question arises, the Annual return assumes that opening balance of GST is available and adjusted?

However, u have put a note of reporting in 6M of ITC of FY 2017-18 - does it mean that closing balance of ITC of FY 2017-18?

Opening balance mean it's already being availed in previous year (lying in your credit ledger) So the ITC which is being availed during Fy 2018-19 in GSTR 3B , even though it is pertaining previous Fy 2017-18 need to be reported in table 6

I have put note of reporting of ITC of Fy 2017-18 which is availed in GSTR 3B of Fy 2018-19 .(Not opening balance)

Thank you sir. So to summarize,

1. There was closing balance of 1 Lakh as IGST in FY 2017-18, which is shown under credit ledger

2. This 1 Lakh of IGST will be shown in Annual Return of FY 2018-19 under Table 6M (i.e. Any other ITC availed but not specified above )

No........ nothing to do with balance lying in Credit Ledger.

Let me explain you with example.

1. CLAIM ITC in 3B for Fy 2018-19 = Rs 100/- (includes ITC Rs 20/- of 2017-18)
2. As per Books your ITC claimed for Fy will be 80 (100-20)

Now in table 6A the ITC will be Rs. 100/- (Autopopulated)

Report Rs 80/- in table 6B & Rs. 20/- in 6M.

Thank you sir. Presenting the same in tabular form as under:

Annual Return FY 2018-19
    Total GST Remarks
ITC Claimed in 3B   100  Auto Populated

ITC  6B 80  This ITC pertains to FY 2018-19
Claim ITC in 6M 20 Indirectly, this represents carry forward balance of FY 2017-18
