Gst on rent

I am operating a plastic mould manufacturing unit out of a rented portion of a building and pay rent of 41000/month. I recently saw that commertial properties are excempted from GST if the amount is not above 20 Lacs. The landlord has rented out other portions of the same bulding to other commercial businesses, in this case his total rental income is 24 lacs totally, myself and the landloard both are GST registered, so is there something in way of GST or anything else I should be paying? Or is the landlord responsible to pay it?

Landlord is responsible to collect GST over the commercial rental from tenants and pay it to Government.......

If your landlord is regd in GST, he should provide you a bill and charge 18% GST on it.

But what of the 20 lacs limit? The rent I pay comes to 5 lacs. annum.

The limit is for your landlord(service provider).

When the landlord is registered, he has to charge GST. Otherwise you (being registered) have to pay under RCM. But why you are worried......... because what you pay as GST on rent is available back to you as deduction (ITC input credit) while you pay for output GST............ So finally you are not at loss !!!
