As per GST law, GST registration is required for any interstate supply of goods. But if the supply value in a year is below INR 20 lacs do I need to charge GST in the invoice?

For interstate supply registration is mandatory irrespective of. turnover for supply of goods under section 24 ,so if you are registered under GST and supplying taxable goods out of state , then GST tax invoice is mandatory under section 31 of the CGST act 2017.
No turnover limit , Registeration compulsory if have interstate supply!

If you are supplying inter-state then turnover limit is not applicable

GST Registration is Compulsory .

GST Registration is a two-step process. A Temporary Registration Number can be generated without submitting documents. Same remains valid for 15 days, before which you have to upload your business existence documents to complete the process and get a permanent GSTIN.
