Quick Summary
This discussion addresses the inability to claim Input Tax Credit (ITC) for purchases made in the 2018-19 financial year because the supplier has not filed their GST returns. The user is seeking advice on how to proceed, as the deadline for claiming ITC for that period has passed. The response clarifies the conditions and deadlines for claiming ITC under the CGST Act and outlines the steps for applying for a GST refund if the ITC cannot be claimed directly.

Last date to claim Input Tax credit for F.Y 2018-19 was date of September 2019 month return date as per section 16 (4) of the CGST act 2017 . Also you have to fulfil 4 conditions as per section 16 (2) of the CGST act 2017 .

Since  I have not claimed it within required date

what is the option left If I want to recover my gst money paid to the supplier

How do I get a GST refund?

Steps:

  1. Login to GST portal.
  2. Select the Refund tab-> Application for Refund Option.
  3. Select the type of refund and Fill the necessary details and submit. ...
  4. Later take a print out along with the ARN number mentioned thereon.
  5. Submit this along with the applicable annexures to the respective Jurisdictional GST officer.

Thank u so much

What if I made purchase in apiril 2022 and forget to include bill of one supplier in April and included same in July gst filing will I get the ITC
