Dear Friends,

This is my second attempt, in my 1st attempt I sat for 2nd group but could not clear. This time, I need your advice in choosing the group as am planning to attempt only one group in May 2013. Due to full time job, am not in a position to study lot therefore only study 4-5 hours daily.

And would like to tell you that am good in Audit and Law and Financial Reporting in 1st Group and DT and ID in 2nd Group. So, very much confused whether should I go for 1st or 2nd group due to shortage of time.

So, please give you valuable advice in choosing the group for May 2013.

go for 2nd group only as have studied it once before just like exams so u have an edge over the 1st group.

Yes agree with above suggestion. Go for 2nd group as you have faced it once and so you can face it better now. Good luck.

Even I concur with FCA girl and Ashish to apply for group 2, since you know the depth of the syllabus and the core area that you need to focus in-group 2 in order to clear it at the earliest. Since DT and IDT, the Assessment Year remains same for May and Nov 2013, it makes sense to appear in Group 2.

I hope and pray that you clear your group 2 in May 2013 attempt itself, just to give a hypothetical perspective, suppose, if you are able to get exemption in let’s say IDT paper this attempt, you may not have to struggle in DT paper in the following attempt as you would have covered in previous attempt.

Bear in mind that DTC, GST, GAAR etc. are staring at you to embrace you in the near future as a CA and not as a CA student (just kidding).
