Its a great news for CMA final students., as ICAI (cost) announced partial modification in practical training requirements to appear for Dec'13 exams.smiley

Till now, completion of 6 months training was must to appear for Dec'13 Final exams, now institute came up with a big relief for students..

Students who have not yet taken up their training, can enroll for I-CMA Training(I-CMAT) for min 100 hours to get eligibility to appear for Dec'13 to Dec'14 term exams.

But its not clear, where and when the training to be taken.. sad

For more details..

Indeed a great move by CMA Institute !

Here are the Faqs for Practical trng and I-CMAT module..

Sir, I am cma intermediate student ,so will this new modification be helpful for me ....if yes then how ? please expain in easy language sir....

@ Sandeep, yes, these changes may help you too..,

As per earlier Notifications, 6 months training was compulsory to appear final exams from Dec'13 onwards..,

Now student shd fulfill any of following 3 conditions, to appear for final exams.,

1. shd have completed 6 months training

2. shd have 6 months of working experience in recognised areas

or 3. the last one as per latest circular is, to undergo atleast 100 hours of I-CMA Training.

If you clear your inter exams in Dec'13, you too can opt for I-CMAT to appear for Dec'14 exams. Kindly note.., this I-CMAT is applicable only for Dec'13, June'14 and Dec'14 exams. After that, one has to compulsorily take 6 months trng to write final exams.

I said this is big relief.., as many students who are pursuing CA and CMA simultaneously.., its difficult for them to go for 6 months trng.., For such students this modification is really helpful..

Hope my reply helped you... Please go thru the Faqs, to know complete details about practical training. All the best..,

Ok here is my question.. I am an article assistant under CA regulations and I have completed 1 year articles..My CA Final attempt is May 2015.  I have recently written my CMA Inter June 2013 and awaiting results.. Assuming I pass in my attempt.. I should be eligible for June 2014 CMA Final.. But this ICMAT Module will give me eligibility only for June 2014 and Dec 2014.. And chances are I won't be able to write in these attempts for reasons such as clash of articleship/ principal unlikely to give me study leave..

So suppose if I complete this ICMAT 100 hr module and make myself eligible for registering for June 2014/Dec 2014 CMA FInal exam. I will pay the requisite examination fees but I will absent myself from all the exams.. So will this help me to carry forward my eligibility status to June 2015 even though I-CMAT qualification is not accepted..

Good News Indeed....

Also, in my view students who had registered themselves before 1.01.2008 are not to be affected by this circular as they are not required to undergo any practical training before final exam in any case. Can others please confirm this.

I am not sure.., as per the faqs given, ICMAT not applicable from june'15 exams,  if you are lucky, institute may extend this CMATrng applicability to june'15 exams too..
