Going abroad, do i need to pay tax?

309 views 1 replies

I have been working as freelancer since last 10 years, working from home and have filed income tax returns in India regularly.

Now I am moving out of country to Dubai next month for long term.

Will I be considered NRI for this financial year since I will be living in India less than 6 months for this year?

Will I have to pay taxes for income that was generated in these 5 months while I was in India or will the entire earning for this whole year will be exempted?

And lastly what are the dates for advance taxes for people like me who work from home and are self employed? Is it every 3 months just like any other business or every 6 months?

Many thanks for your answers and time in advance.

you will be taxed for the incomes earned in India.  the advance tax dates shall be applicable as for any other individual
