Where to show the amount of gift received in the ITR?

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies how to declare gifts received from relatives in your Income Tax Return (ITR). While gifts from specified relatives are generally exempt from tax, it's crucial to report them correctly. The consensus is to show these gifts under 'Income from Other Sources' and, if using ITR-1, specify them in the 'Exempted Income Schedule' under 'Others', noting 'amount received from relatives (Exempt)'.
If you are preparing it through software then you receive such option to show exempt otherwise ypu have to mention that in Exempt Income Schedule in ITR
If you are filing ITR-1 it has option of others in Exempted Income Schedule write - amount received from relatives(eg Dad) then write (Exempt) in bracket other wise there is no seperate option for Gifts
