Quick Summary
A client has received a sum of money from her husband's grandfather and is unsure if it's taxable. Generally, gifts received from blood relatives are not subject to tax in the UK. This means that a gift from a husband's grandfather would likely be considered tax-exempt under the current gift act exceptions.
