Yes Sir, you should take registration number if Value of Service exceeds Rs.9 lac during the year. There is no special exemption limit for Generator operator. If value of taxable service provided is Rs.10lac or less in a Previous Year, then in Current Financial Year, value of service upto Rs.10 lac will be exempted from Service Tax and after Rs.10 lac liable to pay Service Tax (normally).
