Form A.R.E 1 requirement

Hello all,

We have exported goods last month and took excise benefit against FORM ARE 1. We received a seiled cover from the seller which was told to be submitted to excise department. Our clearing agent took the original copy of ARE form and has sent us back with Custom Signed. Can please someone guide me how should we proceed further? Which copies are to be submitted to excise department and which ones to be given to the seller, if any?

Thanks

Look at para 8,9 & 10 for distribution of ARE-1, on this link.

https://www.cbec.gov.in/excise/cx-manual/manual/chap7_part2.htm#ch7_p2_8

Both the original & duplicate copies, duly endorsed by custom is required to be submitted to the Excise authority (division office, where bond had been executed.) ARE-1 copies is not for buyer or seller. All the four copies of ARE1 goes to the excise authorities. Fifth optional copy may be retained by the manufacturer exporter for his own records. Invoice is prepared for commercial documents.

Thanks a lot sir. This clears all our doubts.

Sir, there has been one more problem regarding form ARE 1.

We have all the copies of Form ARE1. Now the copy (triplicate) which our supplier had sent us in a sealed cover was unknowingly opened.  DO we have to send that copy back to the supplier to get it sealed and send us back so that we can submit it in excise dept or it will be accepted as it is in excise dept of our range? The copy is duly signed by the supritendent of supplier's excise range.

We have the duplicate copy of form which is in sealed cover, as it is, addressed to central excise from the commisioner of customs.
