The full form of FDI is Foreign Direct Investment. The Foreign Direct Investment means “cross border investment made by a resident in one economy  in an enterprise in another economy, with the objective of establishing a lasting interest  in  the investee economy.FDI is defined as the net inflows of investment (inflow minus outflow) to acquire a lasting management interest (10 percent or more of voting stock) in an enterprise operating in an economy other than that of the investor.
