Hi,

I will be providing services of Principal QA Engineer (Software Testing) to a company based in London, I will operating physically from India from my home, mainly working on phone, and electronic network over internet, once in 4-5 months I will also be travelling to London to visit them. I will be paid in indian rupee but they will transfer equivalent British Pounds in my bank account in India, so I will actually be paid in convertible foreign exchange. I was out of India for more then 6 years and have just come back so I am NRI as well, dont know for how long, but defnitely for time being.

Exact wording from contract letter is:

4. FEES
4.1 In consideration of the provision of the Services during the Engagement, the Company shall within 30 days of receipt of an invoice submitted in accordance with clause 4.2, pay to the Contractor a consultancy fee of xxxxx Rupees exclusive of Value Added Tax or sales tax (if applicable) per month, such fee to be payable by bank transfer monthly in arrears.
4.2 The Contractor shall submit to the Company an invoice which gives details of the hours which the Contractor has worked, the Services which he has provided and the amount of the fee payable (plus VAT or sales tax, if applicable) for such Services during that month, which must be validated and authorised by the Company.

I will really appreciate if I can be guided as how do I proceed so that I can invoice them, do I need service tax number, is it export of services. How will this arrangement work, I am actually a British Citizen but with OCI card (Overseas Citizenship of India)
