I am a trader of goods which are purchased directly from a manufacturer. I get excise invoice and i am not not taking any credit or eny thing else related to excise. i sell the goods and make bills with VAT. I want to know if i am covered under excise and if i have to take excise registration.

If your customers want cenvat credit of the duty paid by the manufactuers, then only you have to get registered under Central Excise.
