what is the procedure for correction for wrong mention of subheads in online payment challan of excise duty.There is circular of year 2003 in Service Tax Act regarding the same problem but cant find any information for Excise duty.

Have u availed any credit and utilised it also??
After speaking to excise department, I learned that a letter to Chief Account Officer,Excise with CC to superintendent of applicable range informing about the matter will be enough to solve the problem.....not sure about relevent rules,section or circular
