ICAI MAY-2012 OFFICIAL NOTIFICATION WITH ALL RELEVENT DATES
TO BE PUBLISHED IN PART III SECTION 4 OF THE GAZETTE OF INDIA
NOTIFICATION 2nd January, 2012
No. 13-CA (EXAM)/M/2012: In pursuance of Regulation 22 of the Chartered Accountants
Regulations, 1988, the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India is pleased to notify that
the Professional Competence Examination (PCE), Integrated Professional Competence Examination
(IPCE) and Final examinations will be held on the dates given below at the following centres provided
that sufficient number of candidates offer themselves to appear from each centre.
Similarly Post Qualification Course viz: Insurance and Risk Management (IRM) examination will
also be held on the dates given below at the following centres (centres in India only) in terms of
provisions as contained in Schedule “G” of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988 respectively,
provided that sufficient number of candidates offer themselves to appear from each centre

Applicability of taxable services for May 2012 and November 2012 examinations:-
Professional Competence Examination
It is clarified that in Part –II : Service tax and VAT of Paper 5 : Taxation, students will not be tested on specific questions covering individual taxable services.
Integrated Professional Competence Examination
It is clarified that in Part –II : Service tax and VAT of Paper 4 : Taxation, students will be examined only in respect of the following taxable services:
Final Examinations
Paper 8 : Indirect Tax Laws
It is clarified that in respect of taxable services covered in the syllabus of Paper 8 : Indirect Tax Laws, students will be examined only in respect of the following taxable services:

The institute's site is terribly slow, but by providing this file on this page you have really done a commendable job for hundreds of CA students who can't afford to buy every publication of the institute nor have the time to travel 20-25 km to the institute (Mumbai) just to be turned down that the publication is out of stock.
