Further discrepancy on this website is that, if you enter details for Form 26Q in the 1st step, you will be prompted to enter SAM / HASH details of Form 24 Q of the same quarter, in the next step
Actually all these encounters met at the time of TAN Registration may be compared to a tangle: a maze of government regulations, made up of many confused and conflicting elements to create a physical situation in which it is easy to get lost
Prima facie It appears like A Graphic Puzzle, the solution of which is an an intricate, confusing network of interconnecting pathways from a starting point to a goal (TAN Registration).
What I found was, on step-1 it is asking for any token number after April 1, 2010 and on step 2, the heading clearly says, enter details about the latest accepted regular statement, so it is very clear that these are two different token numbers for which the details are to be entered.
But now I think the process is changed as the SAM HASH and the FILE HASH values are being removed because of so many user complaints.
can someone verify that?
Yes you are correct Mr. Moderator. Now there is no problem of SAM hash and FILE hash headache. In the last week registration process if we enter TAN and a token no. in step 1, it has changed to another token no. which is filed recently and we have to give SAM and File hash of newly asked token no and replied only INVALID DETAILS for all. It is auto populated token no. as intimated by TRACES. But now i think all problems are erased. We can regist TAN easily. This new TAN Registration process almost same as TAN registration process in TIN-NSDL. But here also some problems about Authentication code. I found it is also given on first successful request in a day and the given Authentication code can be used for that day. ( it is also calendar day and not 24 hours). Using that authentication code we can made a next request easily without giving CIN and PAN details form Form16A request in that day. But FORM16A requests processing time is very long. I gave request yesterday but I have not yet received them now itself. We have to read carefully the HELP icon notifications and mind them in all time. Because it tells all about the process in page by page. In each and every page there is a specification for that page. And help comments in step by also important.
After all these We can conclude that ETDS filing and downloading process are not an Easy Task today. It is very rigid and time consuming one. There is no satisfied monetary benefits for our time investment in ETDS filing.
