@ Kishre, I think the BAAN is the most oldest ERP software, so please why you called SAP the daddy of all ERP? however thanks for the article.

Who is "Kishre" ? 

Coming to your question, Jan Baan started Baan Corp. in late 70s, to be precise around 1978.

SAP began its operations with 4 or 5 entrepreneurs in early 70s - in the year 1972 .

 The expression you've quoted has been used in the context of the scalability of an ERP.  Both ERPs score well on their features, SAP is more easily adaptable to almost any business model. 

Please note I'm not promoting any ERP.
